Our Core Values

These are the values that describe us, and provide the boundaries for how we live with each other and in the world

Extravagant joy

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. ... I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." John 15:9, 11

Passionate faith

"Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:17

Loving respect

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34
"You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor." James 3:17-18

Deep connectedness

"I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you're joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can't produce a thing." John 15:5

Intentional growth

"They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. .... Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved." Acts 2:46-47

Shared laughter

"Laugh with your happy friends when they're happy; share tears when they're down." Romans 12:15
"You never saw Jesus, yet you love him. You still don't see him, yet you trust him -- with laughter and singing." I Peter 1:8

We aim to be an inclusive community, welcoming all without regard to human distinctions of race, class, gender, ability, or sexual orientation.
Bible quotations are from The Message paraphrase, by Eugene Peterson.

Our Mission

Our Relationship to the United Church of Christ

Campbell United Church of Christ (Congregational) is an independent church community. We have chosen to be in communion with the United Church of Christ. The United Church of Christ is a community of communities that share a commitment to responding to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action.

Our commitment to the UCC, and its commitment to us, consists in mutual support and respect. The Constitution of the United Church of Christ notes that “As members of the Body of Christ, each expression of the church is called to honor and respect the work and ministry of each other part. Each expression of the church listens, hears, and carefully considers the advice, counsel, and requests of others. In this covenant, the various expressions of the United Church of Christ seek to walk together in all God’s ways.
