Staff
Rev. Elane ORourke, Pastor
Welcome
to the Campbell United Church of Christ (Congregational), where God is still speaking!
What newcomers usually notice first is the welcome they receive.
We're glad to see each other and to welcome people into our home.
We won't overwhelm you with questions and directions, but those
warm smiles and open faces reflect our joy that you've come.
We strive to be an oasis: to provide refuge from the craziness of
life in the 21st century, and refreshment and resource for our faith
journeys. We are all at different places on the path of faith, but
our goal is to walk together, sharing our experiences and understandings,
and worshipping and serving God and God's people in the larger community.
As pastor, my task is to keep pointing toward God, to help mentor
and guide you on your journey, and to give you tools and resources
to help you draw closer to God and to others.
I'm supposed to include information about my education and work
experience here, but here's the only part that matters: I know from
personal experience that God in Christ loves even you, and there's
nothing you can do to change that.
I hope you find an oasis for your journey here at Campbell UCC!
Elane O'Rourke
Note: Rev. Elane will be on Sabbatical from 10-Jun-2010 through 12-Sep-2010.
Rev. Barry Willbanks, Sabbatical Replacement Pastor
Pastor Elane's sabbatical replacement is Rev. Barry Willbanks. The son of a pastor, Rev. Willbanks holds his Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, and served a Redwood City church for 10 years. Since retiring from that church, Rev. Willbanks has been serving as an interim minister for Presbyterian and UCC churches, as well as running his own real estate business. Rev. Willbanks is married, and based in Redwood City.
The main purpose of the Sabbatical Replacement Pastor is to serve as the primary preacher in Sunday worship and be responsible for pastoral care outreach and emergencies. He will also serve as a resource to the congregation, advising leadership and staff as requested or called to do. Please keep our church and Rev. Willbanks in prayer as we look forward to being Christ's church together!
Bradford Lee, Dir. of Music Ministries
We are thrilled to welcome Bradford Lee as our new Director of Music Ministries. He is also the owner of Willow Music in Willow Glen, and comes to us from Grace Baptist Church in San Jose. Bradford has wide-ranging experience and musical interests, including contemporary worship, jazz, and bluegrass.
Dianne Curtain, Office Administrator
Dianne Curtain joined the church and staff in 2009 coming from Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Carlsbad, CA.
A native of South Carolina, Dianne serves not only as Office Administrator but is also team leader for the Arts Ministry of the church. With a background in photography, media arts, arts education and technology, Dianne was the curator of the first Community Art Exhibit for the church in October 2009. Dianne has also held spiritual photography classes at the church based on her book “Visions of the Bible: A Spiritual Journey”.
John Rogers, Facilities Manager
John Rogers joined the staff as Facilities Manager in June, 2006.
John’s money making job is as Facilities Manger here at Campbell UCC.
John oversees the property, renting the facility and working with all the different groups,
individuals and church members using the facilities.
John sees that the property is kept clean, orderly, and in good repair at all times, working with others to set up,
clean up, and put things together they might need.
John coordinates all the functions, activities and events that take place on the campus,
maintaining a list of the dates, times, and place of uses.
John’s ministry is as an Evangelist, being Blessed and Sent Forth in May of 2009. When John isn’t at the church doing his tent making job, he is assisting local churches and pastors with evangelism (outreach); helping church members share their faith with others. John takes seriously Jesus’ command to go into all the world making disciples of Christ. He is a Jesus’ Freak without being a "Religious Fanatic". We are truly blessed to have John use his gifts here at Campbell UCC.
