Annual Recommitment
On Sunday, May 11, we will celebrate Pentecost - the ancient
birthday of the Church - and Consecration Sunday. On that day, every year, we
prayerfully see where we are in our faith walk, make any course corrections
needed, and recommitment to Jesus' Way. On
Consecration Sunday, we put that recommitment into the form of a covenant with
Christ and each other. Then, as a church
together - as an intentional collection of followers of Jesus - we ask God's
blessing upon our individual practice and our communal ministry.
The 6 Marks of Discipleship form the basis of our covenant
with Christ and each other. Through our regular practices of prayer, worship,
reading and studying Scripture, service, relating deeply to others, and giving,
we are formed and transformed. If you
are a member or friend of this church, you will soon receive your annual
recommitment form in the mail. If you're
new to this church, you can pick one up in Worship.
Wherever you find yourself on your path, take the time this
month to re-center yourself on God in Christ, and to take whatever steps you
need to move forward, walking in the footsteps of the Master.

Dive! into Pure Worship - May 7th, 7:00 p.m.

Join us on
May 7th at 7:00 for the first Wednesday of the month experiential
Worship service of praise and prayer we know as Dive!. Dive! is an opportunity to dive
deep into the heart of God with your brothers and sisters in Christ as we dive
deep into a theme from our current series in intimate worship.
On May 7th, we
will simply spend time in the awe and praise of God, practicing the second mark
of discipleship we know as "Worship." If you have ever wondered what worship
was all about, dive in. And, if you are participating in a Real Faith for Real
Life small group and are unable to gather for our session on Worship on April
20th, please join us for a short make-up session after Dive. |

Shelter Dinner Update
The last of the beautiful red camellias from church
decorated all the tables in the dining room of the Women's Shelter. After
the meal I placed the flowers in a bowl of water for the women to enjoy for the
next few days.
My thanks to the Tuesday Night Bible Study Group for hosting the April dinner.
The main courses featured cheese lasagnas, macaroni & cheese &
chicken-rice casserole. The Bible Study Group also provided
cranberry juices, dinner rolls & a wonderful "gnarly" green
salad. In addition to preparing 4 "late plates" we also served
17 women & 9 children who offered many thanks for our dinner.
Our large basket of lotions, soaps, toothbrushes, etc. was welcomed by
all. Thanks to the many anonymous folks who constantly leave these
goodies in my cupboard at church.
After my usual greeting at the beginning of the meal, I mentioned our Sunday
prayer request time during service. Within minutes 4 women came to me
with their prayer requests & mentioned how much this gesture meant to them.
Our May Shelter Dinner is still in need of French breads & juices.
Please see the sign up list to help next month if you can. Remember that
desserts are also a real treat for the women & children.
Shalom,
Angie Jaggars
Shelter Dinner Coordinator

Women's Ongoing Connectional Ministries
Faithful Followers
Leadership rotates for this group, but it always meets on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. in the Fireside Room. All women are welcome. They began RF4RL: The 6 Marks on April 13, so it's a great time to join. For more information, contact Teresa Lewis (Keeper of the Book). Members describe the group as "often irreverent, never blasphemous"! Faithful Followers plan to do the
Relay for Life for breast cancer in Campbell in July. They are putting together a cookbook
to help raise funds as part of our contribution, and are seeking your best
recipes to fill the cookbook! Ideally, all the recipes will be in hand by April 30th in order to have time to
assemble the book. Contact Mary Alice Edson at 655-9405 if you can provide a favorite recipe! Real Faith Women This group began as a study group for the 6 Marks, and members continue to support each other's walk with Christ. The Real Faith Women meet on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5 in the Fireside Room. Child care is provided; Nora Menke is the group leader. They began RF4RL: The 6 Marks on April 17. Isabel CircleIsabel Circle is our longstanding ministry for sage and seasoned
women. The ladies next meeting will be Tuesday, May 13th, at 1 p.m. in the
Fireside Room. Please contact Jo Mary Keith at 378-8110 or Evelyn
Brooks at 252-6668 for information.

Contact Pastor Elane or Pastor Bran for location and info. |
Come join the Music Ministry! The teaching arm of the Music Ministry is seeking student musicians for
small ensemble groups. These groups will be formed for the single

of your instrument, you are welcome to join us! For details, please contact Cheryl at music@campbellucc.org. or 415-902-1276 for more information.
Lift your voices and hands in praise of God! Instrumentalists and vocalists - regardless of skill or experience - are welcome to join Campbell UCC's Music Ministry.

Real Faith for Real Life What is essential "in heaven and on earth" seems to be, to say it once more, that there should be a long obedience in the same direction: given that,
something always develops, and has developed, for whose sake it is
worthwhile to live on earth... something transfiguring, subtle, mad, and divine.
Friedrich Nietzsche
